Nearly every smart phone, feature phone and camera phone can scan QR codes. Some of the free QR code reader apps are neoreader, kaywa and quickmark. Many Android, Nokia, and Blackberry phones have QR code readers installed.
The BlackBerry App World application can scan QR codes and load any recognized Web URLs on the device’s Web browser.
Nokia’s Symbian operating system includeds a barcode scanner, which is able to read QR codes. mBarcode is a QR code reader for the Maemo operating system.
The iPhone / iPad / Apple iOS and Iphone do not have a native QR code reader, but more than fifty paid and free apps are available with reader and metadata browser URI redirection ability.
Android phones and Android tablets can scan QR codes when you use the Google Goggles application or if you install a third-party application such as ZXing (Zebra Crossing) or Kaywa.

Windows Phone Mango (v7.5 released Sept 2011) has QR reading inbuilt in the visual search – no app required.
